Fall Costume Party
This will be November 5th, Friday night from 7:00-8:30. I am encouraging everyone to dress up. I will provide light refreshments. Each student will have the chance to perform a song for the group. The song will be something that is prepared and decided at the lesson. If younger students need to be picked up at 8:00, just let me know. If your child has a friend who is interested in music lessons and wants to know "what it's about", feel free to have your child bring one friend to the party. Your child may feel more comfortable having a friend anyway. To help in my planning for this event, would you RSVP as soon as you can to let me know if your student will or will not attend and if a friend will attend.
Some students were interested in a fall song and now have one to work on. That fall song would be a great option for the Fall Party if it is ready in time. If it isn't, please don't feel bad. The reason for the late start on the fall music is that the publisher was 4 weeks behind in their orders. I found this out after I placed the order. Sorry. I meant to have these ready at the beginning of September. What can you do?
Christmas Music
To prevent "Christmas Overload" I have been dodging the question of "When can we start Christmas music?" Well, that time has come. I will start teaching Christmas music this coming week, starting October 18th. If you are needing a Christmas book, let me give you a few options.
1.) A Christmas book compatible with your lesson book (ex. Alfred Level 2B Christmas, Piano Adventures Level 1 Christmas)
2.) "In Recital with Christmas Favorites" by Helen Marlais - (Levels 1-5) Levels are compatible with your lesson book.
3.) "In Recital with Popular Christmas Favorites" by Helen Marlais (Levels 1-5) Levels are compatible with your lesson book.
4.) Any Vocal Collection for those studying voice.
5.) "FJH Adult Piano Christmas Treasures, Volume 1" by Helen Marlais (Adult Students only)
6.) "A Charlie Brown Christmas" - Beginning Piano Solos
These are available at Dollarhide's Music Center (850)-494-9898. If you have questions about what level to get, please contact me prior to purchasing. I would encourage you to get your music soon, so it is not out of stock. Once your Christmas music is in, bring it to your lesson and we'll start!
