April Updates
Friday, April 13 at 7:00pm
St. Paul Lutheran Church on 9th Ave.
I am asking everyone to be at this concert if possible. I was thrilled to be able to book Julian and hear of his unique take on concerts. There will be lots of visual arts to keep your child connected with the music. The concert is free, and donations are welcome at the door. This is a great way to get your child pumped up for Student Day the following day. Would you take a moment and show your child Julian's webpage? There are a few promo videos for his tour.

Look forward to seeing everyone there!

Student Day Student Day Honors Recital
April 14th April 28
Pensacola State College Dollarhide Music Center
Ashmore Fine Arts Bldg #8 2:00pm
Times: TBA
I'm so excited about the 22 students who have signed up for Student Day. I know for many this is new. The main thing to remember is there are THREE parts to this day:
1. Written Theory Test
2. Aural Theory Test
3. Performance/Technique
Your student will have a scheduled time for each event. Once those are posted I will share them with you and include directions. Top performances from all levels will be repeated at an honors recital on April 28. To aid in this preparation, those involved were given a folder with worksheets and a listening CD. Be sure to have all of those worksheets and listening completed by this week. For Level 2 and up, this includes technique boxes and transposition/harmonization. If not done, the lesson time will be used to finish instead of playing repertoire.

Materials Account
Around the middle of April, you will receive a statement with all activity on your materials account. For some you will have a credit that will be applied to your May tuition. For some, you will have a balance that will need to be added to the May tuition. Please note this when you receive your statement so you can be prepared for a different than normal amount on May's tuition.

Summer Lessons
It's hard to believe the school year is almost at an end. Studio lessons run until May 25, which means there is a week of lessons after the Awards Recital. Summer lessons will be offered from June 3 - July27. A new addition to the summer will be a week long Music Camp at Dollarhide's Music Center in the late summer. Information about summer lessons and music camp will go out at the end of the month.
