October Announcements

Tuition Payment
Please don't forget that tuition payment is due by the first of each month. A $10 late fee will be added by the 7th of the month. I'm glad to hear the positive feedback with the PayPal account. You can find the PayPal link on my website. Sorry that my card reader was not working on Monday, but it is now. So if you would like to pay with a credit/debit card, I can now process that too. Of course check or cash at the lesson is fine too.

Monthly Recordings
This is recording week! Encourage your pianists and singers to polish up their songs. Can't wait to hear them. Contrary to what I said before, I will be using YouTube and not Vimeo to post these videos, due to Vimeo limitations. I have already set up my YouTube Channel. I have made it as private as possible. It is unlisted and comments are disabled. The only people who can see these videos are the ones who get the link from me. Please pass the link on to family and friends! This will motivate your pianist or singer to see what a big deal this really is. Here is the link to my channel. Please click the subscribe button! Monday students are up.

Fall Costume Party
October 26, 6:00-7:30
My House

This is open to anyone in Kindergarten through 6th grade. We will have games and activities and of course a time to play piano for each other. So tell your student to grab a costume and come on out for a good time. A sign up sheet is posted on the announcement board. Parents, it would be too crowded if you all stayed. So enjoy the hour and a half off. I will take great care of them. Promise.

Baroque Festival:
Nov 2nd, 3:00 & 4:30
Dollarhide's Music Center

On my board is a list of students who are working on Baroque Music. These are treasures from time period of 1600-1750. The most famous keyboard composers are Bach, Handel, & Scarlatti. If at all possible, please support your pianist in working towards this goal and being there. It is non-competitive and not judged. It is solely a time for more advanced students to perform this great music. You can choose which recital to attend: 3:00 or 4:30. Please check for your name on the board and let me know.

Featured Students:
In previous years, I have done an Honor Club each month. In place of that, I will do different incentives throughout the year.

September Student of the Month
Megan Turner

Megan is an 8th grader who has picked up a recent interest in jazz after she was chosen as one of the keyboard players for her school's jazz band. She also plays French Horn in concert band. You may remember she was the Most Improved Student of the Year for 2012-2013. After taking summer lessons with me, going to FSU band camp, performing at "Teens in Jeans", and attending my Piano Ensemble Camp, she came in to lessons as ready as could be. Check out her "Dandelion Rag" on my YouTube Page. I've been most impressed with how prepared she has been with her warm-ups. She does her scales, chord inversions, cadences, & arpeggios perfectly. GREAT JOB!!! You earned & deserve this award.
