Festival is fast approaching and I'm feeling good with how most are doing. Parents, these next few weeks please help your child lay it on thick. Make some extra time. Memorize those two pieces. Polish, polish, polish. You should have received an information letter from the Festival Chairman this past week, as I've been handing them out. If not, please pick one up this week.
Everyone needs to sign up for a rehearsal at my home on Sat, Feb 1st at 2:00-3:30 or Sun, Feb 2 at 2:00-3:30. You can e-mail me and let me know when your child plans to come or sign up on my board at home. We will practice playing our songs for each other, I will go over what they expect they day of, and they will take their theory test here with another teacher moderating. Please ensure they are here on time, as we will start the theory test at 2:00 sharp. They have to make it to one of these two days to participate.
Directions from Pensacola: Take I-10 East towards Tallahassee. Take exit 56 (State Road 85 South). Turn RIGHT off of the exit and go 15 miles. You will drive through Crestview, and Hurlbrt Field (Eglin Air Force). Stay LEFT when the road splits. You will see the college on your left. Turn left onto College Blvd. Take the SECOND entrance (should be marked with Arts Center). Enter through the main doors to the left of the fountain and statues. There is a museum if you have some free time you may want to check out.
