Summer Update
You know by now we had our boy in June. Lawson Everett is here and doing great. (Pics in previous post) It's nice to see my older two take to him so well. It's been a busy summer in the studio too. Summer lessons have been great! So fun and relaxing. And these kids are getting smarter. Things seem to sink in better over the summer I've noticed.
A Reminder that tuition is due August 1st, late after August 7th. You'll notice to be as clear as possible, I started mailing out invoices. If you did not get one, please let me know. You can pay through your online banking, mail a check, or use paypal on my website. Looking forward to having everyone back August 18-22! Please bring all piano and theory books that we have been using to your first lesson.
Teens in Jeans
Erica, Kiley, Angela, Megan, Daniel wowed the Gallery Night audience with their performances. There was even a marriage proposal going on while Erica sang "A Thousand Years". So proud of this group for their hard work. Here are some pics. Sorry, there is no pic of Erica singing because I was playing for her. She did a great job singing Let it Go, Turning Tables (Adele), and A Thousand Years.
Kiley played a medley of Disney songs, Kiss the Girl, A Whole New World, and Reflections.
Angela added to the Disney collection with Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid.
Megan's medley included Don't Stop Believing, Imagine by the Beetles, and New York, New York.
Daniel wowed the crowd with his arrangement of Let it Go from Frozen.
Highlights from Lion King at Time to Shine
Six of my students joined me for a mini production of the Lion King. Twice a year I produce a mini version of a Broadway show. Search Time to Shine, Center for the Performing Arts on FB if you want to see more pics. This summer Katie, Jonny, Nataniel, Erica, Jeremiah, and Joel joined me for Lion King. Coming in January.....Frozen!

Erica and Katie with their game face on, singing in the African chorus.

What? How did I get in there as Scar? =)

Nataniel as Zazu, Jonny as Simba Katie as Sarabi

I'm just a little proud if you can't tell.
Piano Ensemble Camp
Piano Ensemble Camp
This was such a laid back, fun week. These pianists have sharpened their skills in just 5 days. Highlights of the week included Music Jeopardy, Rhythm Cups, and Composition. They each composed an Egyptian song and got to take it home a professional printed copy of it! Thanks to Abby Davis for being my assistant this week.
Aubrey is 'B-b-b-bad to the bone" Oh my. These two hit it off alright. Third grade boys!
Rhythm cups! Great job Jeremiah. Their favorite was Music Jeopardy. None of them know what Jeopardy is though. Go figure.
Great job polishing chord recognition. Future composer in the making.
Nice job on your notation and composition. The flashcard champion.
