May Updates
Student Day
Thank you to my eight fantastic students who participated in Student Day at PSC this past Saturday. I'm so proud of everyone. The judges gave me many verbal compliments about you all! Comment sheets will be given at the lesson once I have received them. Awards will be given at the awards recital. An honors recital for Student Day will now be Saturday, May 21 at 2:00 PM at Dollarhide's Music Center. This is a change in date.

Many of you know Julie from past recitals and events. She was awarded with three scholarships from the Choctaw Bay Music Club this past Sunday, May 1st. She received a Senior Award, a Summer Music Camp Award, and the top performer Award. In total, she has received $1,050 in scholarships this year. Congratulations, Julie.
Her family is moving in a couple weeks, so unfortunately she will not be at our Awards Recital. Thank you, Julie, for providing such great music for us this past year. It has been a pleasure listening to you. Best of luck at you study Music Education in college.

Awards Recital
May 19, Thursday
6:00 P.M (Student Meeting @ 5:30)
Dollarhide's Music Center
I love recitals! I cannot wait to present this fine group of students to their families. Most students have been working on a Show-tune and a Classical song. This will be a fun evening with good music and refreshments. Awards will be presented this night as well to honor those who have dedicated so much time to enjoying music.
Here is what you can do to help. Encourage your child to have fun playing their song and make sure they are memorizing their music. Bill Dollarhide has allowed my students to visit the store and play their songs on the actual piano they will perform on. This can be done at your convenience anytime the week before or the week of the recital. Please make sure this happens. Everyone will feel much better if your student has had the chance to be on that stage before the recital night. Lastly, the dress for the recital is semi-formal. Boys should wear a shirt and tie or a coat and tie. No shorts or tennis shoes, please. Girls should wear a Sunday dress, formal, or nice skirt and top. No flip-flops, please. I think everyone will enjoy this night.
Please note there is a $5 per student Recital Fee added to the May tuition to help cover the costs of this recital. This is stated in the studio policies.

Summer Lessons
July 6-7 through August 24-25
Wednesdays and Thursdays
This past week everyone should have received a letter regarding summer lessons. If you did not receive one or need another, let me know. I understand the need for a break, so I will not teach in June. The option of one or two months is available. However, if your student is wanting to participate in the Baroque Festival or the Sonatina Spectacular in November, at least one month of summer lessons is required. On the enrollment forms, you have the option of picking a time frame and a day that works best for you. Please return that form to me as soon as possible so I can begin scheduling. To accommodate some requests, I will start Thursday lessons at 10AM, not 12. I hope in doing so, more will be able to enjoy lessons during the summer.
