February Updates
Westpointe Retirement Community
5100 Northpointe Parkway
Pensacola, FL 32514
February 4th, Saturday
2:00-3:00pm
This Saturday we're going to be giving back and playing music for others. No trophies. No certificates. No medals. Just playing to put a smile on someone's face. Have your student pick one or two of his favorite songs to play prior to coming to lessons this week. I need to record his choice to make a program. This informal event does not require that you play by memory, but you are always encouraged to. Dress is casual, not formal. Have your student wear something neat and presentable. No shorts, t-shirts, or sandals. Be sure to tell me whether or not you are planning on going on Saturday.
Directions: It is just off of Scenic Highway, just north of I-10 ramp. The entrance to Northpointe Pkwy is right next to a BP gas station. Westpointe is up the hill to the LEFT. It has a red roof and a fountain out front. You will see the performance area right when you walk in.

Federation Festival
February 11
Niceville UMC
214 Partin Drive South
Niceville, FL 32578
Performance times will be e-mailed to you by this weekend. Each student is playing two songs by memory. You MUST bring both original copies with each measure numbered. Please take care of numbering measures at home. Failure to bring your music with measure numbers disqualifies you. Dress is Sunday dress. Boys - shirt and tie or nice collared shirt. Girls - a dress or nice dress outfit. Wear something you will be comfortable in. I will be judging at this event so I may not be around to greet you and give your student a pep talk. You can help by keeping them positive and not nervous. Everyone is very prepared.
Directions: From northern Pensacola, Take I-10 East to Exit 56 (SR 85). Follow 85 South for 16 miles and turn Left on SR 20/John Sims Pkwy. Partin Drive is 1 mile ahead on your right. Follow FFMC (Florida Federation of Music Clubs) signs to guide you at the church.

March 17 - Sonata Contest - Piano & Instrumental
April 13 - Julian Toha Concert - St. Paul's Lutheran Church (9th Ave)
