MAY UPDATES

Awards Recital
May 15, Thursday
6:30pm Dollarhides

Many have asked if the recital is still taking place this Thursday due to the recent flooding. The answer is yes. The show must go on. Dollarhide's is closed for renovations, so your child won't be able to go practice on their piano this week. But they are working feverishly to get things up and running for us. Thursday night will be a sort of "Grand Re-opening".
You know your child is playing in an ensemble. So please make every effort not to miss Thursday night. As always, there will be awards given out afterwards, so you don't want to miss that.
May lessons end on May 23, just before Memorial Day. Don't miss your last lesson the week after the recital!

Re-Enrollment
Thank you to so many for handing in your re-enrollment cards so quickly. If you haven't done so yet, please do so before June 1st. To reserve your spot for the next school year, a non-refundable registration of $80 must be paid. This guarantees a spot for you in the studio, covers your books for the year, Christmas and Awards recitals, and Festival/Sonata Workshops.  After June 1st, enrollment is open to new students.

Summer Lessons
June & July
This summer I am offering a flex 6-week package. Six weeks gives me enough time to help your child make good progress and not "take a step backwards" but also gives them some down time before the school year starts again on August 18. You can choose any 6 weeks in June and July. (There was an error on my summer handout, with a week in July omitted.) Please hand those in ASAP. I only teach Tues, Wed, and Thurs in the summer and am almost full.

Summer Ensemble Camp
July 28-Aug 1
Dollarhides, 1-5pm
If your child has never been to my piano camp, they need to at least once! Just to name some of the things we do, I teach them a couple of songs on the hand chimes, how to compose their own song with notation software, how to play a quartet and trio. Cost is $115. A $25 deposit is needed to hold your spot. The balance of $90 can be paid at camp.

Why won't these boys share the bench with Jonny? They just left him standing out!
