Happy March,

SONATA CONTEST PREP CLASS
I'll be hosting a Sonata Contest Prep Class on Sunday, March 12 from 2:00-3:30. This will be a good run through before the real performance. Let me know this week if you plan to attend.
EASTER/SPRING BREAK
You'll see on the calendar that I am off for Easter Break April 10-14. I know that may be different than your Spring Break. If you are in town and can still come by for your lesson in March, please do so. I'd love to still teach your student that week. But do mark your calendars for a little break the week leading up to Easter.
FEDERATION FESTIVAL
Congratulations to everyone for performing at Festival. It was a lot of worth while work. If you earned a Gold Cup Trophy (15 points) you'll receive it at the end of the year Recital.
STUDENT DAY
Student Day is May 6, Saturday and is Olympics themed. I'll be sending home an info letter on it if I think it'd be a good opportunity for your student this year. If you don't receive one from me, but are interested, please let me know.
SIXTH LAP
A runner knows the sixth lap can feel heavy and tiresome. It's the lap when runners feel like quitting. But if they keep going just a little further, they'll taste the sweet success of crossing the finish line. We are at that point of the year now. End of the 3rd quarter is approaching. We are all busy. Find ways to encourage your musician. Ask them what their favorite piece has been this year and to play that for you. I'm working on compiling a list of all your student has learned this year. How sweet would it be to play through those pieces from September and see the growth from then to now. Persist!
