Thirty six. That's how many weeks have come and gone. It's amazing what your son/daughter can do in thirty six weeks. So proud of their faithfulness and grit to stick to something and work hard. My desire is for that work ethic to inundate other areas of their life as well.
Enrollment for Summer Lessons has begun. Info letters were sent home. If you didn't get one, just see me for one. I strongly urge you to consider having your student do something over the summer, whether some lessons, piano camp, or supervised playing with you. It usually takes about 4-6 weeks in the fall to get caught up to where we were in May. That's a big step backwards that can be avoided. I hope to see many over the summer.
Re-enrollment for 2015-2016 is underway too. Registration cards are being sent home this week. Please return the card and the registration fee per student by July 1. After that, registration is open for new students. Please get them in as early as possible, so I know how many openings I have.
The Awards Recital is this Thursday night, 5/28 at Olive Baptist Church in the Choir Room. Thank you to those who volunteered to bring a plate of finger food or snacks/desserts. If you are able to bring a finger item, thank you. I will have punch, plates and napkins provided.
Dress is Sunday dress. Boys, a collared shirt and dress pants. Optional tie (I'll be sporting my bow tie.) Girls: Sunday dress/tea dress. Wear shoes you are already comfortable in. Practice at home with your recital shoes on, especially to pedal.
Everyone will be recognized at the end of the recital, so be sure to stick around to pick up your awards from Federation Festival, Student Day, and a composer statuette.
