Back to Piano

Back to Piano is almost here. We've all enjoyed the break, but I'm eager to have my pianists return. Lesson resume the week of Aug 17, when the Escambia County school calendar resumes. If you have not received a letter in the mail from me with info for 2015-2016, please let me know. On the bottom of your form, your lesson time should have been listed on there.

Everyone student is always worried about that first lesson back. They may be "rusty". Well, that's a given. Would you encourage them these next two weeks to play old favorites, review a scale or two, or even try a new piece. Above all, tell them not to be worried about their first lesson back. On their first lesson back, would you help them back their books we used to finish out this past year? Most had a literature book, a scale book, and a supplemental book. Please remember to bring those to the first lesson back.

As it's the first week of August, please remember to pay your August tuition this week, NOT at the first lesson.

We had a great week at Piano Camp this summer. We played trios, mastered scales, read through a cool book, played the coolest game of Musical Spoons and Flashy Fingers ever. I had so much fun and loved seeing how much they can learn and grow in just one week!

Trenton loved his binder.

Paris did great on her worksheet.

They couldn't get enough of this Flashy Fingers Game. They are chord experts now.

Yes, you are looking at an E Major Chord stacked up using boxes.

Flashy Fingers and Spoons were a hit!

These guys were so proud of their chains. Each link represents a scale, arpeggio, or piece of music they learned. Great job guys! You made me proud. These guys will be ready to go August 17.

Here are some pics from the Awards Recital
 The Efird trio. Great kids.
I love getting to teach my daughter. Next recital you'll also meet my son!
